We decided to make a family podcast!

Have you ever had a crazy idea you just can't get out of your head? That's how My First American started!

My name is Ariel and I am a mom to 3 boys. I have been writing plays (like movies that you act out on stage) since I was in high school. For a long time my favorite holiday was the 4th of July. I loved how we celebrated our American freedoms to choose, speak, and believe. And fireworks are just so beautiful. I feel very blessed to live in this country. I also love to think about where I came from.

Even though most every American has a story of an ancestor who came from somewhere else, not everybody likes think about where they came from. They just want to be American. But one of the things I love about America is how so many different people came here and made one great country! Researching the stories of my ancestors who chose to immigrate here makes me even more proud to be a citizen of the United States of America.

Reading these stories again, I wanted to share them with my kids. So we made a podcast :)
